Innovative Security with the Security Key App

With the integrated Security Key app, you can use the Ledger Flex for websites that require passkeys, two-factor authentication (2FA), and multi-factor authentication (MFA) for optimal security.

Extra Backup with the Ledger Recovery Key

In the box of the Ledger Flex you will also find a Ledger Recovery Key. It is a card of about 5 cm with its own Secure Element chip, meant as a spare key for your wallet. During setup you choose a PIN and tap the card against the back of your Flex, after which your 24-word recovery phrase is stored securely on the card. If your Ledger is lost or damaged, you bring your wallet back onto a new Ledger with a touchscreen using the card and your PIN. Nobody can do anything with the card without the PIN, and after three incorrect attempts it is wiped automatically. Think of the Recovery Key as an addition to your Recovery sheet: still write down your 24 words and keep the two in separate places.
